Exploring the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian

DSC_0220

Terry Jolineau of the PR Winnebago Sauk tribe led the group to the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian in Evanston.  The educational tour focused on the art, history and culture of Native American and First Nation peoples throughout the United States.  The tour was followed by craft making and then lunch at Edzo’s.

The Park Ridge Indian Scouts and Indian Princesses (PRISIP) have donated a portion of the funds from our annual Christmas tree sale nearly every year since 2008.  We believe that PRISIP members learn a great deal about the American Indian by visiting the museum.    We value our partnership with the Mitchell Museum and we view the museum as a tremendous resource for the community.

More information on the Mitchell Museum and Native American culture can be found at http://www.mitchellmuseum.org/.
